New NonProfit Micro-Credential Program Partnering With Trent University
The Community Foundation of Kawartha Lakes in partnership with Trent University is pleased to introduce the Nonprofit Management Essentials (NME) micro-credential program, a timely initiative designed to equip nonprofit professionals with critical management skills. This program is being launched in response to the evolving needs of the nonprofit sector, aiming to provide professionals with the tools necessary to navigate and lead in an increasingly complex environment.

$302,000 in Funds Delivered Through Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund
Today, the Community Foundation of Kawartha Lakes is pleased to announce $302,000 in funding to support seven community services in Kawartha Lakes through the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund.

Deserving Local Students Receive Generous Family Legacy Scholarship Awards
Three local philanthropists, Chris Handley, Mike Perry, and Phong Tan have demonstrated their unwavering commitment to ensuring access to quality education by establishing awards and scholarships for local elementary and high school students pursuing a post secondary education. These generous gifts have been made possible through their Family Legacy Funds, established in collaboration with the Community Foundation of Kawartha Lakes.

Omemee Community Leaders Launch A Community Advised Fund
Omemee Community Leaders have come together to establish the area’s first community advised fund to help mobilize private or corporate donations, attract legacy gifts or endowments for granting to initiatives and charities specific to the Omemee area. All donations, which are eligible for tax receipting, will have a direct and lasting impact in Omemee.

Strawberries and the Mishkodeh
In the Anishinaabemowin language, ode’miin means “strawberry”. It is the heart berry.
The Mishkodeh Centre for Indigenous Knowledge invites the community to gather with us on Saturday June 17 at 11 am outside at 50 Canal Street in Bobcaygeon (by the FLO Charging Station) for ‘Strawberries and the Mishkodeh’.

Much Good has come from the Bobcaygeon and Area COVID-19 Relief Fund
The Community Foundation of Kawartha Lakes announces the final act of the Bobcaygeon & Area COVID-19 Relief Fund (BACRF). Launched in March 2020 in response to the pandemic’s impact on Bobcaygeon, this significant fund raised much needed financial and in-kind support for local healthcare workers, Bobcaygeon’s three senior care homes, their residents and staff, as well as local families and individuals during a difficult and unpredictable time.
