$302,000 in Funds Delivered Through Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund

Today, the Community Foundation of Kawartha Lakes is pleased to announce $302,000 in funding to support seven community services in Kawartha Lakes through the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund.

The Community Services Recovery Fund is a one-time investment of $400 million by the Government of Canada to help community service organizations including charities, non-profits, Indigenous governing bodies adapt, modernize and be better equipped to improve the efficacy, accessibility and sustainability of the community services that they provide through the pandemic recovery and beyond.

Deserving Local Students Receive Generous Family Legacy Scholarship Awards

Three local philanthropists, Chris

Handley, Mike Perry, and Phong Tan have demonstrated their unwavering commitment to

ensuring access to quality education by establishing awards and scholarships for local

elementary and high school students pursuing a post secondary education. These generous

gifts have been made possible through their Family Legacy Funds, established in collaboration

with the Community Foundation of Kawartha Lakes.

In the Anishinaabemowin language, ode’miin means “strawberry”. It is the heart berry.

The Mishkodeh Centre for Indigenous Knowledge invites the community to gather with us on Saturday June 17 at 11 am outside at 50 Canal Street in Bobcaygeon (by the FLO Charging Station) for ‘Strawberries and the Mishkodeh’.
